Severe Sangria Withdrawal

Hello lovely people!

It's been a while since my last post.   One day after work I decided enough was enough so I dusted off my passport, grabbed my backpack and headed off to Barcelona for a few days!

It was my first time visiting the city and I absolutely loved it. There's something for everyone including the sun worshippers, the pool loungers and the art lovers.

I went for a long weekend and stayed near the touristy but amazing Las Ramblas street. There are amazing squares with cute and quirky bars and restuarants to be found if you're willing to explore a little.  Exploring around Old Town was my favourite thing to do (apart from take advantage of the cheap sangria) as each and every street was breathtaking and beautiful in it's own way. Even the crumbling balconies with the old washed shirts draped over them being dried were oddly mesmerising.

Barcelona is definately an art lovers city. Amazing buildings and statues line just about every street. My favourite place was Parc Guell, which is situated on a huuuuge hill.  I will admit that walking up that hill in the blazing sun seems like a nightmare at the time but once you get to the park the artwork and incredible views make it all seem worthwhihle. I tried to take some decent pics of the park whilst I was there but I only had my iphone which somehow failed to capture the sheer awesomness of the place but here they are anyway :)

As well as awe inspiring art work there's of course amazing tapas and other spanish dishes to enjoy. If you like seafood (I don't personally - anything that comes served with eyes is a no from me) then you're spoilt for choice here.

Overall just an amazing amazing place that i'd love to visit again and explore even more. The people are friendly, nothing is overpriced and the sun was shining. What's not to love other than the Sangria Withdrawal when you get back!! xx
